Some opening words

As some may know, some students form grades 8 through to 12 have started a school newpaper with the help of Ms Kaandorp not long ago, a newspaper which now reaches its third edition. The Coffee Stain, as we called it, has had a rather complicated life, suffering with problems that ranged from lack of communication to epic formatting challenges. Nevertheless, it stands firm and lives on thanks to the efforts of unexperienced yet eager journalists, gathering strength as we all learn and refine our methods in order to perfect the newspaper. This blog is but one more step along that path.

I created this blog to serve the students, it is meant to be a place where they can come and write down their thoughts, their feelings, their fights, their victories, their defeats. I would very much like to see this blog becoming a space where we all can be open, honest and tolerant, stating and discussing our opinions about life and all that comes along. Therefore I ask you, don't be shy, come and write down your mind without fear, dare to say what is in your head, and do it the way that you want to do it. No restraints, no commitments, no limits.

Now, to business!! I'm afraid that whoever wants to post will have to send me an e-mail and ask for my permission, since leaving this blog open would allow any non-Southbank personell to just come and screw it over. I shall soon create a post with a few rules and tips that will make life easier for all of us. Don't worry, none of the rules will restrict what you can say! I'd very much like to ask you to write a lot, as much as you can, in order to make this a dynamic blog. Hell, if things get dynamic enough I could even consider making a whole forum for us!! And, by the way, when posting try to add a few sensible labels to your post in order to make indexing easier. If I consider your labels stupid or confusing, I'll just change them to fit our indexing system.

Speak up and fear nothing!!
